Meulestede North

The creation of 50 social houses, a social servicecentre with post- and policeoffice, a recyclingcentre and an urban proposition for the site. The project is a new way of dealing with high-rise social-housing sites where the interstitial space doesn't belong to anyone and feels "unheimlich". Our porject "reduces" these spaces by "bordering" them and shape them into specific squares and gardens. The "remaining" irregular plots give original housing-shapes. The public building at the bridge links the two levels (bridge and site) and intense and dense urban fabric, and a strong sign, night and day.
