54 housing units in future park on the riverbank of the Seine

The project functions as one of the pilot projects in the redevelopment plan of the industrial neighborhood. Therefore, the transparent collective green garden, surrounding the new buildings, has two objectives: first, forming an isolated green island in a changing neighborhood, and later, forming a green extension of the future park. One building is aligned to the park and future development, the other is aligned to the Boulevard and standing more in solitude, creating a dialogue with the adjacent EDF buildings, brutalist monuments conceived by Atelier de Montrouge in 1967. The towers are conceived as two robust white concrete sculptures, with a dynamic expression, translated in generous terraces with double heights and multiple orientations. Their location near the Seine and the risk of flooding caused by climate change induce strict regulations that benefit the covered entrance halls - generous large empty spaces. Designed as convivial spaces, they foster exchanges between residents of social housing, homeowners and business users. They function as an extension of the collective gardens. Natural sunlight improves the comfort in the staircases and hallways. Living spaces have a double orientation, inducing more natural light and interesting views.
